PASS Accomplishments
Since 1999, the PASS model has resulted in significant accomplishments for participating schools. Among the highlights:

Initial Evaluation Results

  • Six of the first seven PASS schools moved up at least one grade level.
  • All seven schools met "A" criteria in writing performance
March 2002 Results
The following accomplishments were based on FCAT test data of 15 schools that had been in the PASS model for one year or longer:
  • 46.6 percent had below a "C" grade in 2001 and only 13 percent had below a "C" grade in 2002
  • 47 percent increased one or more letter grades in 2002
  • 73 percent increased one or more letter grades since becoming a PASS school
  • 27 percent increased two or more letter grades since becoming a PASS school
  • 27 percent made an "A" or "B" grade in 2002
All PASS Schools
Evaluation reports of the 22 PASS schools indicate the following results:
  • 15 advanced one or more letter grades (68 percent)
  • 6 made "A" or "B" letter grades (27 percent)
  • 5 maintained the same letter grade (23 percent)
  • 2 declined one letter grade (9 percent)
  • Of the 18 schools with below "C" letter grades at inception of PASS model, only 5 were below "C" (23 percent)

NOTE: For each PASS program, an independent monitoring and evaluation team analyzes individual school reports and statewide educational "report cards."
